THE MERINO WOOL
NOTHING SHORT OF A TECHNICAL MASTERPIECE Jemala® is one of the finest wool on earth. The ultra fine 13.5 micron is less than 1/7 of the thickness of a human hair. Even Cashmere(super-fine, 15-19 micron) cannot compare with it. Such material is extremely rare and luxury in fashion industry. It is the result of precision harvesting, independent quality control and years of genetic research with, and use of breeding technologies — as the Jemala® scientists believe, ’Top quality genetics leads to top quality fibre’.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY To reach a new height in sustainable fashion, Jemala® is the one who truly care about the sheep and environment. The sheep are well taken care of, which brings excellently good health and long live. During the grazing, the merino sheep only eat the upper part of the grass instead of the whole plant so the grass would grow back (unlike cashmere goats that eat the whole plant, which eventually leads to desertification). The whole process is aimed to be as eco-friendly as possible and all dyes are EU approved.
PRIDE IN THE PRODUCT Considered as one of the finest materials ever ethically made, Jemala® is based on the genetics of the 4 times winner of the prestigious Vellus Aureum Trophy (Ermenegildo Zegna wool award), Rowensville Merino Stud. A Jemala® fleece was also chosen by Wool Mark for Sydney Olympics in 2000, to represent the entire Australian wool industry. The product is luxurious yet eco-friendly, with such uncompromising quality that Queen Elizabeth II has accepted three Jemala® twin-sets, which is totally unprecedented. *Above image as one of her letters of appreciation.
